Roles and Responsibilities of a Room Leader
- To lead the room by example, ensuring all assistants are being shadowed and are developing into their roles.
- To ensure all safety checklists are completed daily and children are kept safe and secure throughout the day
- To understand and implement all school policies and procedure
- To ensure the classroom risk assessments are created and reviewed on a weekly basis
- To ensure that all courses, training, and policy quizzes assigned to you are completed by the appropriate deadlines.
- To undergo termly supervisions and annual appraisals with the nursery manager.
- To ensure the risk assessments are created for each location visited and permission slips are created and signed by parents
- To ensure that all courses, training and policy quizzes assigned to you are completed by the appropriate deadlines.
- To make sure the children go on an outing at least once per day.
- To ensure that the Greenwood Way is implemented throughout the classroom
- To hold weekly room meetings with their team to reflect on the week that’s been and prepare for the week ahead.
- To ensure you have a happy team who can communicate well.
- To make sure that all conflicts are resolved openly with team members in a calm and positive manner
- To ensure peer to peer observations are done on a weekly basis and discussed during the team meetings
- To ensure that your team are creating fun holistic activities that are in line with the Greenwood Way
- To create strong relationships with all children and their parents
- To ensure that all key workers are focusing on all their key children
- To ensure all tracking and assessments are being met at the appropriate deadlines
- To ensure the classroom is set up in a child friendly way creating enabling environments for the children. All learning zones are clearly signed, and displays are updated regularly
- To ensure the weekly newsletter is written and posted on the Famly app.

- To help support the room leader in all their duties
- To communicate with your team.
- To keep the room tidy and safe.
- To follow and learn the timetable of your classroom.
- To be punctual in the mornings and after breaks.
- To make sure you clean up after yourself when you use the staff room facilities.
