Measure roof dimensions, drainage points, outlets, perimeters, falls, upstands, and penetrations with accuracy. Identify existing build-ups, verify deck condition, and assess requirements for tapered insulation or flat board. Capture photographic evidence and produce clear survey notes to support the design process. Assess risks relating to access, working at height and site constraints. Identify suitable tapered insulation approaches (e.g., PIR, Rockwool, hybrid systems). Determine constraints such as U-value requirements, minimum falls, and compliance with BS 6229 and manufacturer guidelines. Recommend where tapered gutters, sumps, or additional design features may be required. Liaise with contractors/manufacturers to understand project requirements, sequencing and installation preferences. Design Collaboration Provide precise survey data to the internal design team to allow production of accurate tapered schemes (CAD/PDF). Clarify technical queries and ensure survey findings align with proposed build-ups. Support the design team with revisions where site conditions differ from drawings or tender information.
