Roofer

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Roofer to join a Local Authority on a temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out roofing repairs, maintenance and associated building works across a range of commercial and Council-owned properties. The role holder will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver a high-quality, value-for-money service while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and compliance with health and safety requirements.

Main Duties:

• Carry out roofing repairs, maintenance and associated building works in accordance with specifications and instructions provided
• Undertake repairs to a variety of roofing systems within commercial and public sector properties
• Inspect roofing defects and identify appropriate repair solutions
• Work safely and efficiently in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
• Use appropriate access equipment and work at height when required
• Liaise professionally with tenants, building users and colleagues
• Ensure work is completed to a high standard with a focus on customer satisfaction
• Report any hazards, defects or health and safety concerns to management

Essential Criteria:

• NVQ Level 2 in Roof Covering or equivalent qualification
• Completed roofing apprenticeship or equivalent trade training
• Previous roofing experience within a repairs and maintenance environment
• Experience working on commercial properties
• Ability to work at height and use appropriate access equipment safely
• Knowledge of current health and safety regulations and safe working practices
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Basic IT skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Enhanced DBS check required
