Rolling Stock Technician/ Train Rider Location: Derby Industry: Rolling Stock Employment Type: Contract 4 on 4 off days Fleet: Class 810 Infinitive Resources is recruiting qualified Rolling Stock Technicians to support the dynamic testing, fault identification and system-performance validation of the Class 810 fleet in Derby. Key Responsibilities Support dynamic testing and commissioning activities on Class 810 rolling stock. Monitor train systems and equipment performance in real time. Diagnose faults across electrical, mechanical and software-integrated systems. Investigate defects affecting traction, doors, HVAC, toilets, catering equipment and train-control systems. Conduct basic corrective actions and component replacements where required. Support engineers with deeper root-cause investigations. Accurately log, report and escalate faults identified during testing. Capture detailed technical data and test results. Work with engineering, testing, commissioning and depot teams to resolve defects. Support functional, performance and system-validation testing. Verify repairs and modifications through repeat testing. Assist with fault resolution during fleet introduction and early service operation. Complete technical documentation and engineering records accurately. Contribute to reliability improvement and continuous-improvement activities.
