Rolling Mill Design Engineer

Position : Rolling Mill Design EngineerIMPORTANT : this role comes with a comprehensive development programme as part of long term succession planning. Previous experience of rolling mills is not essential, and the role should be viewed as a Junior or Trainee level position to start. It is envisaged that the first 2-3 years will see you shadowing a Senior Engineer whilst learning the detailed requirements of the design of rolling mill passesSector : Metals manufacturing, hot metal working, metallurgyAcademic Level : Masters (MEng, MSc) or PhD in a technical subjectLocation : South Yorkshire based with national and international travel as required. Projects can have durations of over 12 months, and values upwards of 100 million each. Customer locations are both UK and Internationally based, and the roll will require travel to these locations. Travel will probably be about 20% of the role, but may involve periods of time away from home for up to 4 weeks at a time, especially at the start and commissioning phases of projects.Hybrid : No, the role is office based in South Yorkshire if not on a customer site.
