TIG/MIG Welder – Redditch

Location: Redditch
Pay: £17.50 per hour during probation, rising to £18.00 per hour, plus a weekly shift allowance
Probation: 3 months
Shifts: Weekly rotating shifts – 6:00am–2:00pm / 2:00pm–12:00am

We''re recruiting for a TIG/MIG Welder to join a well-established manufacturing company in Redditch. This role offers strong hourly pay plus a shift allowance, and full training on robotic welding equipment for the right candidate — no prior robotic experience needed.

You''ll be working on forging dies and tooling, using a mix of TIG, MIG, and ARC welding alongside a robotic welding arm, restoring and repairing components to a high standard. If you have solid TIG and MIG welding experience from a manufacturing or engineering background, we''d love to hear from you — whether or not you''ve used robotic welding equipment before.

• Setting up and operating a robotic welding arm
• Applying multiple layers of weld to various forging dies
• Removing slag and debris from welded surfaces
• Preparing and cleaning surfaces between weld layers
• Completing the welding process until the impression within the block is fully restored
• Repairing different types of tooling
• Performing TIG, MIG, and ARC welding where required
• Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards
• Maintaining safe and accurate work practices within a manufacturing environment

We welcome applications from candidates who:

• Have previous welding experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Possess TIG welding experience – essential
• Possess MIG welding experience – essential
• Have ARC welding experience (advantageous)
• Have experience operating robotic welding equipment (beneficial but not essential)
• Understand welding processes and preparation thoroughly
• Are eager to learn robotic welding techniques

Candidates with more basic welding experience will also be considered if they demonstrate the right aptitude and willingness to develop.

• Starting rate: £17.50 per hour during the 3-month probation period
• Post-probation: £18.00 per hour
• Plus a weekly shift allowance of £50.06

The role operates on weekly alternating shifts:

• Week 1: 6:00am–2:00pm
• Week 2: 2:00pm–12:00am

Applicants must be able to work both shifts on a rotating basis.
