Road Freight Key Account Coordinator

Location: Maldon, Essex
Salary: Up to -35,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm

A growing global freight forwarding company is looking for an experienced Road Freight Key Account Coordinator to join its team in Maldon.

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of key customer accounts while coordinating European road freight movements from collection through to delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the day-to-day requirements of key road freight customers

• Coordinating European import and export road freight shipments

• Handling groupage, part-load and full-load movements

• Acting as the main point of contact for assigned customer accounts

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers

• Liaising with hauliers, overseas agents, depots and internal departments

• Obtaining rates and negotiating with transport suppliers

• Preparing quotations and responding to customer enquiries

• Monitoring shipments from collection through to final delivery

• Providing customers with regular and accurate shipment updates

• Resolving delays, delivery issues and operational queries

• Completing and checking relevant transport documentation

• Updating internal systems with accurate shipment and customer information

• Monitoring service levels and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met

• Identifying opportunities to grow and develop existing accounts

• Supporting the wider road freight operations team when required

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience within road freight forwarding

• Experience handling European import or export road freight shipments

• Knowledge of groupage, part-load and full-load movements

• Experience managing customer accounts or key clients

• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills

• Excellent communication and organisational abilities

• The ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities

• Confidence dealing with customers, hauliers and overseas partners

• Strong attention to detail

• Good problem-solving skills

• Experience using freight forwarding or transport management systems

• Salary up to -35,000, depending on experience

• Monday to Friday working hours

• Choice of 8:30am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm
