Risk, Safety & Claims Manager
Looking for a senior health and safety role where you can influence strategy, lead improvement and make a real difference across a large organisation? This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key management position within a busy Operations team, covering maternity leave for 12 months.
In the Risk, Safety & Claims Manager role you will be:
- Leading the organisation’s approach to health and safety, risk management and insurance claims, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice
- Developing and reviewing policies, procedures, risk assessments and guidance to promote a positive and pragmatic health and safety culture
- Providing professional advice and strategic support to senior leaders and colleagues at all levels, including on complex and high-risk situations
- Managing health and safety investigations, audits, inspections, insurance renewals and claims, working closely with insurers, the HSE and other external partners
- Leading continuous improvement activity, training and business continuity arrangements, while working collaboratively with internal teams and regional/national stakeholders
To be successful, you will need:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 Health & Safety qualification, with IOSH membership or a commitment to achieving Corporate Membership
- Significant experience of managing health and safety, risk and claims within an organisation, including leading and developing a team
- Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, risk management principles and current best practice
- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and advise stakeholders at all levels
- Proven ability to analyse complex information, manage competing priorities and lead projects and organisational change
- Experience of managing resources and delivering objectives within agreed timescales and budgets
- A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally, regionally and nationally when required
- Level 2 Welsh language skills, with the ability to converse comfortably with members of the public
This is a 12-Month fixed term contract, working full time hours, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You''ll be based in offices in Rhyl, with agile working available. You''ll be on a salary range of £48,738 – £51,928 per annum, plus a range of employee benefits.
