Risk Manager

Carmichael are seeking a Risk Manager to join the team working on a Nuclear project based in Cumbria. • Develop and maintain the project-wide risk management framework aligned with nuclear regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., safety case expectations, ALARP principles). • Identify, assess, and prioritise risks across all phases of civil engineering works (design, procurement, construction, commissioning), including safety, quality, environmental, cost, and schedule risks. • Facilitate structured risk identification workshops (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP support, constructability reviews) with multidisciplinary teams. • Maintain and regularly update the project risk register, including flow-down to specific WPOs, ensuring clear ownership, mitigation actions, and status tracking. • Quantify risks using qualitative and quantitative techniques, utilising ARM (e.g., risk matrices, Monte Carlo simulations for cost and schedule uncertainty). • Integrate risk management with project controls, including planning, cost engineering, and change management processes. • Ensure risks related to nuclear safety, radiological protection, and regulatory compliance are rigorously assessed and escalated appropriately. • Interface with the nuclear safety case team to ensure civil engineering risks are reflected in safety documentation and licensing submissions. • Monitor effectiveness of risk mitigation measures and implement corrective actions where controls are inadequate. • ..... full job details .....
