Model Risk Management is a second line function that is responsible for the independent review and challenge of models and Tools and ensures compliance with standards (e.g., SR 11-7, PRA SS 1/23)
This position offers the candidate a unique opportunity to engage in MRM related governance, reporting and validation activities for Tools, with close interactions across numerous stakeholders within Business and Control functions, reporting directly to the Global Head of Tool Oversight (located in London).
Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.

What will you be doing?
Assist the MRM Global Head of Tool Oversight in the review and challenge of inventory and risk rank consistency as well as the execution of validation work for ToolsCollaborate with Global MRM teams and Model Control Officers to ensure consistent interpretation of relevant Policies and ProceduresPro-actively identify key model risk management framework enhancements related to ToolsPartner with a wide range of stakeholders across the Firm on governance and framework initiatives related to ToolsSupport the preparation of materials for specific legal entities and committees.
What We’re Looking For
Master''s or Ph.D. degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or other business or risk management related areasExperience from financial institution or consulting firm in model validation (or other analytical function) or model governanceExperience with/understanding of core model risk management regulations (specifically FRB SR 11-7 and PRA SS1/23) and related governance requirementsThe ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally
