Are you interested in returning to a career in nursing?We are offering the opportunity to work as a Band 3 Return to Practice Nurse while you complete a Return to Practice course at one of our partner universities starting in January 2024. Successful completion of the course will allow you to apply for NMC registration and to obtain a Band 5 Staff Nurse post in our organisation.Indicate your preferred hospital site in the application: Barnet Hospital - Barnet; Royal Free Hospital - Hampstead. Job responsibilitiesClinical ResponsibilitiesMaintain professional behaviour and promote a positive image of Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.Assist staff in the delivery of direct patient care and undertake skilled nursing activities for which training and competency assessment has been undertaken.Assist in maintaining patient well-being, dignity, confidentiality and privacy; adhere to trust policies and procedures.Prioritise care; demonstrate good communication with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.Contribute to discharge planning and report patient risk assessments; recognise changes in condition and escalate as appropriate.Act as a role model for student nurses and colleagues; report concerns to the nurse in charge.Escalate incidents promptly; understand patient feedback and contribute to improving patient experience.Assist with ward preparation, orientating patients and visitors, infection control and food hygiene policies; act in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct.Understand safeguarding principles and protect patient privacy and dignity; assist with patient dietary needs and hygiene; assist with moving and repositioning of patients within guidelines; monitor and record observations and vital signs.OtherResponsibilitiesAssist with admissions and discharges; participate in audits and ensure safekeeping of patient property; maintain documentation according to NMC and Trust standards.Qualifications and Experience
