Retail Shift Manager

Salary: £12.71 - £13.21 per hour
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent, Part-Time – 24 hours per week

Shift Pattern:

This role requires flexibility to work evening shifts, including weekends. The successful candidate must be available to work evenings the shifts are Monday and Saturday 2-10pm and will be responsible for securing the site at the end of trading.

The Business

Westray Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Supervisor on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded retail business operating within the convenience and fuel retail sector.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their management team with the addition of an enthusiastic and proactive supervisor.

The Role

As a Shift Supervisor, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of the site during evening trading hours and ensure the premises are safely secured at the end of each shift.

Working closely with the Site Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of the business, lead by example, and help drive excellent customer service standards.

Key duties will include:

• Managing and overseeing evening operations
• Opening and closing procedures, including securing the building at the end of trading
• Leading, motivating and supporting team members throughout the shift
• Delivering exceptional customer service and resolving customer queries professionally
• Maintaining high standards of store presentation and cleanliness
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety, food hygiene and industry regulations
• Supporting sales growth and operational performance targets
• Monitoring team performance and providing guidance where required

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Previous supervisory experience within a retail, convenience, hospitality or forecourt environment
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• A proactive, hands-on approach to work
• The ability to remain calm and organised within a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
• Availability to work until 10:00pm and undertake site closing responsibilities
