Location: St Helens, Southport & Wirral (Multi-Site)
Salary: -13.49 - -15.02 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Looking to start or develop your career in residential childcare?
We''re recruiting Residential Support Workers to join an established children''s care provider, supporting children and young people across residential homes in St Helens, Southport and the Wirral.
This position involves working across different locations, so you''ll need to be able to travel reliably to all three areas.
You don''t need to already hold a Level 3 qualification. If you have the right attitude, patience and commitment to working with young people, full training and support towards the relevant qualification will be provided.

What You''ll Be Doing
As a Residential Support Worker, you''ll play an important part in creating a safe, supportive and positive environment for children and young people.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Supporting daily routines, education and recreational activities
- Helping young people develop independence and practical life skills
- Providing emotional support and encouragement
- Supporting individual care plans and safeguarding procedures
- Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally
- Completing daily records and reports
- Working alongside colleagues to provide consistent care
What We''re Looking For

You''ll need:
- A genuine interest in supporting children and young people
- Good communication skills and a patient approach
- The ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- A willingness to learn and complete relevant training
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
- Full UK driving licence and ability to drive
- Willingness and ability to travel between homes in St Helens, Southport and the Wirral.
Previous experience in residential childcare, support work, youth work, mental health or similar environments would be an advantage, but direct residential childcare experience is not essential.
