About the Role

Our client is a well-known national house developer with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality residential communities across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Residential Site Manager to oversee a major housing development in Devon.

This is a long-term opportunity on a flagship residential scheme that is scheduled for completion in 2029. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and in line with company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site construction activities from groundworks through to completion.-Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, site labour, and materials.
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with construction programmes.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance. Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks.
• Monitor progress and report updates to senior management.
• Manage site logistics and site security.
• Ensure all NHBC and building regulation requirements are met.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities, and stakeholders as required. Oversee handovers and ensure customer satisfaction targets are achieved.

Experience Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

• A minimum of 12 months experience as a Site Manager on residential housing developments and proven experience managing new-build residential projects from inception to completion.
• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades on site.
• Strong understanding of construction programmes and site sequencing.
• Experience maintaining excellent health and safety standards on active construction sites.
• Previous experience delivering plots to agreed quality and production targets.
• Ability to manage site teams and drive project progress effectively.

Essential Qualifications & Certifications

• Valid SMSTS and valid CSCS Managers Card.
• Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
• Full UK Driving Licence and own transport.
• Strong knowledge of NHBC standards and current building regulations.

Desirable Qualifications

• NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management (or equivalent).
• Temporary Works Coordinator certification.
• Scaffold Inspection certification.
• CIOB membership or working towards professional accreditation.

• Commercial awareness and understanding of construction budgets. Proficient in Microsoft Office and site reporting systems.
