Job Title: Residential Conveyancer
PQE: 5+ (or equivalent qualified experience)
Location: Southampton
Salary: £60,000+ DOE
The Role:
This is a rare and important opening to join a busy, well-regarded firm, stepping into the shoes of a highly respected Conveyancer who is retiring after a long tenure. The successful candidate will manage a healthy, loyal caseload of residential property matters as the sole Fee Earner in the office’s conveyancing department, with the support of two experienced staff. Duties include:
- Running a full caseload of residential transactions from instruction through to post-completion
- Maintaining strong relationships with long-standing clients and local agents
- Delivering a high level of personal service with excellent attention to detail
- Overseeing compliance, SDLT, and Land Registry requirements
- Working closely with support staff to ensure smooth workflow and client satisfaction
The Candidate:
This is a highly visible role, best suited to a qualified Residential Conveyancer with strong ties to the local market. You may be a Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Licensed Conveyancer, but must have demonstrable experience running your own caseload independently. You must also be able to demonstrate:
- Experience and confidence managing all aspects of residential conveyancing files
- Stability and longevity in your previous roles
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- A proactive, dependable approach and the ability to work autonomously
- A commitment to maintaining the firm’s excellent reputation in the local community
