Residential Children''s Home Manager

A Residential Children''s Home Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, safeguarding, and day-to-day operation of a children''s residential care home. Key Duties and Responsibilities1. Safeguarding and Child Welfare Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and protection of all children and young people. Promote positive outcomes in education, health, emotional wellbeing, and independence. Manage safeguarding concerns and liaise with local authorities and other agencies. Ensure compliance with children''s home regulations and safeguarding policies. 2. Leadership and Staff Management Recruit, supervise, and develop residential care staff. Conduct staff appraisals, supervisions, and performance management. Create staff rotas and ensure adequate staffing levels at all times. Lead by example and promote a positive, child-centred culture. 3. Regulatory Compliance Ensure the home complies with Ofsted regulations, the Children''s Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards. Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections. Maintain accurate records, reports, and policies. Investigate incidents, complaints, and safeguarding matters. 4. Care Planning Oversee the development and implementation of individual care plans. Monitor children''s progress and review outcomes regularly. Work with social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals, and families.
