Residential Children and Young Peoples Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for a caring and compassionate individual to lead our Family Residential Centre as a Residential Support Worker, on a full-time permanent basis. Location of the post: Market Harborough, Leicestershire. Service Overview: Barnardo''s, the UK''s largest Children''s Charity are currently on an exciting and innovative Journey alongside Leicestershire County Council to deliver a range of Children''s homes for the most vulnerable children and young people in Leicestershire. Welland House has 3 self-contained flats with the capacity to house up to 3 families at any one time. Families utilising this type of service may include parents with moderate to high learning needs, those presenting with issues around domestic violence, and or substance/alcohol misuse. Additionally, they may have experienced mental ill health and/or trauma. During their stay, the parents will be supported in their parenting by Barnardo''s staff, whilst being assessed by Leicestershire County Council Children''s Service. The Welland House team is supportive in its approach, with our primary aim revolving around promoting best practices, through guidance, role modelling, key work sessions and practical advice on matters relating to concerns, risk, safety, routines, and boundaries.
