Resident Forklift Engineer

As a Resident Forklift Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping a fleet of forklift trucks and materials handling equipment operational, carrying out planned maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs. Key responsibilities - Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks and lifting equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults. Complete planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections. Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime. Carry out safety checks, including brakes, steering, hydraulics, hoses and electrical systems. Identify parts requirements and raise accurate parts requests. Maintain service records and complete relevant paperwork. Liaise with the customer and site team to ensure excellent service levels. Work safely and maintain high standards of workmanship. Personal Requirements - Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer, Plant Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, HGV Engineer or similar. Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills. Experience working on forklift trucks or other materials handling/industrial equipment. A proactive and reliable approach. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage your own workload. Full UK Driving Licence. This is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. Salary - 35,000- 40,000 % shift allowance.
