Techniche Global are supporting a leading defence engineering organisation with the appointment of a Resident Electrical Engineer to support works within the Submarine Refit Complex at Devonport Dockyard.

  • Initial 12-month contract
  • Up to £65/hour Umbrella (Inside IR35)
  • Site-based in Plymouth (4 days working week)
This is a site-based contract role focused on overseeing electrical installation and commissioning activities during the construction phase, ensuring quality, compliance, and practical engineering support on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing electrical installation and commissioning works
  • Witnessing works and ensuring adherence to scope and standards
  • Supporting contractors and resolving technical queries
  • Conducting inspections and recording quality compliance
  • Providing practical, site-led engineering input throughout construction
About You
  • Strong electrical power / building services background (LV/HV, lighting, fire detection, HVAC etc.)
  • Proven site-based construction or commissioning experience (2+ years)
  • Ability to resolve onsite technical issues and support delivery teams
  • Experience working within complex engineering or infrastructure environments
Security Requirements Due to the nature of the site, applicants must be sole UK Nationals. Current SC clearance is highly desirable; candidates who previously held SC or are willing to undergo clearance will also be considered.
