Overview
Reserving and Methodology Actuarial Analyst role at Athora. Location: London or Dublin. Type: Permanent. Team: Actuarial Reserving and Methodology, Group Actuarial. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Actuarial Reserving and Methodology team within Group Actuarial, led by the Senior Director of Actuarial Reserving and Methodology, who supports the Group Chief Actuary and works closely with local Actuarial departments across the Athora subsidiaries. The role involves developing and maintaining robust assumptions and methodologies across the Athora Group, contributing to the assumption-setting process (experience/market investigations for economic and non-economic assumptions) and helping evolve the Group’s Actuarial methodology framework, including regulatory frameworks (Solvency II, Bermuda, IFRS17) and internal Economic Capital measures. The role also supports the production and maintenance of Economic Scenarios and stressed yield curves and related activities.
Responsibilities
Contribute to Assumptions and Methodology Framework: Develop, document, and periodically review assumptions and methodologies, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and internal governance; enhance automation and efficiency in assumption-setting processes.
Contribute to Actuarial Governance: Participate in group governance processes, including preparation, analysis, and presentation of key information to support decision-making and regulatory/compliance standards.
Support the production and maintenance of Economic Scenario Generation and stressed yield curve production, supporting Solvency II, Economic Balance Sheet, IFRS17 and Economic Capital regular reporting processes, AoC and sensitivities.
Deliver Ad-Hoc Analysis and Investigations: Provide timely actuarial analysis in response to requests from Chief Actuaries, investors and other stakeholders, including scenario testing, sensitivity analysis and deep dives into trends or anomalies.
Support Integration and Migration Projects: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate newly acquired portfolios and subsidiaries into Athora Group frameworks, ensuring smooth data, model and assumption transitions.

Qualifications
Part qualified FIA or STEM degree with similar experience in the insurance industry
Up to 3 years’ experience in the life insurance or reinsurance market
Familiarities with Solvency II / IFRS17 valuations/modelling are an advantage
Excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills both in written and oral format
Detail oriented and good planning
Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
Coding capabilities are an advantage
