The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is “exceptional care, healthier lives.” SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.The Research Assistant/Officer will provide operational, technical, and administrative support to research studies conducted within the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at St George Hospital in SESLHD. The role is responsible for supporting research project activities including ethics applications, data collection and entry, study coordination, stakeholder engagement as well as raising invoices and grant monitoring in order to ensure seamless flow of trial revenue. The position contributes to the quality and integrity of health and medical research and ensures compliance with governance and funding requirements.Our ideal candidate has a Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification and is proficient in the use of REDcap (Research Electronic Data Capture) database software.Benefits

Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, medical science, social science, public health, or a related discipline; or relevant equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experienceDemonstrated knowledge and appreciation of the processes of health and medical research, including ethics and governance submissions, participant recruitment, and data collectionDemonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in performing a range of management and administrative tasks within allocated timeframeDemonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with key stakeholders.Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare research documentation, accurate reports, newsletters, NHMRC reports, governance applications, and study materialsDemonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt work practices to meet current and emerging business needsCurrent driver''s licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position)Demonstrated ability to determine priorities for others and delegate tasks to achieve work objectives.Information for applicants
