MMP Consultancy is recruiting for an experienced Repairs Planner to join a Social Housing contractor on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong scheduling, planning, and customer service experience within housing maintenance, local authority, housing association, or contractor environments.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Team, coordinating repairs and maintenance activities to ensure works are completed efficiently, on time, and to a high standard. You will be responsible for managing operatives'' diaries, scheduling repairs, and acting as a key point of contact for residents and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain operatives'' diaries and schedules.
- Plan and coordinate pre-inspections, post-inspections, reactive repairs, and emergency maintenance works.
- Prioritise emergency and urgent repair requests.
- Book appointments and allocate work to available operatives.
- Monitor jobs from initial booking through to completion.
- Ensure all relevant information and records are updated accurately and promptly.
- Liaise with tenants, operatives, and contractors to arrange and progress repairs.
- Communicate concerns regarding work quality and ensure operatives have the necessary materials to complete jobs.
- Attend team meetings, supervision sessions, and training as required.
Experience Required
- Previous experience working for a Housing Association, Local Authority, or maintenance contractor in a:
- Repairs Planner role
- Scheduler role
- Maintenance Coordinator role
- Customer Service/Contact Centre environment within housing maintenance
- Strong organisational and workload management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Experience coordinating multiple repairs and maintenance activities simultaneously.
- Construction or property maintenance knowledge would be advantageous.
Skills & Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at Grade C/Level 4 or above.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience using repairs and scheduling systems such as:
- Connect
- Northgate
- DRS
- Strong administrative and data entry skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workloads.
