Rents and Service Charge Manager 6 Month FTC Medway £40k - £50k DOE pro rataOur Medway based client are looking for a Rent Accountant to join their finance function. You''ll lead the rents function, oversee day-to-day rent and service charge operations, act as the subject matter expert on rent standards and ensure accurate income, arrears and ledger management. You''ll also support boards/committees with advice and administration.Key ResponsibilitiesRent AccountingLead and develop a team of 3Maintain accurate rent accounts: rent debits, adjustments, reconciliationsMonitor rent income and arrears; produce regular reportsManage annual rent and service charge increase processEnsure accurate posting of rent transactions and provide cover when neededPrepare and manage service charge budgetsCalculate charges and allocate costs correctlyProduce year-end service charge accounts and reconciliationsResolve service charge queries and disputesFinancial Reporting and AnalysisProduce monthly and year-end rent/service charge reportsAnalyse variances vs budgetSupport internal/external auditsProvide statistical data, arrears reporting, and stock reconciliationsMaintain and update housing/finance systems (MRI, Civica, Northgate, Orchard)Strengthen financial controls across rent and service charge processesSupport system improvements and data accuracy initiativesWork closely with housing, finance and external partnersHandle tenant/leaseholder queriesCommunicate financial information clearly to ..... full job details .....
