      <description>Location: Worcestershire | Salary: 25.17-25.17 Hourly | Type: Contract | We are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Worcestershire for an experienced and customer-focused Rent Officer to join their Housing Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing rental income across a portfolio of council properties, ensuring rent is collected efficiently while supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies. You will proactively manage rent arrears, negotiate repayment arrangements, and work closely with Housing Benefit, the DWP, internal departments and external support agencies to maximise income and reduce the risk of homelessness. The successful candidate will have previous experience in housing management, income recovery or a similar customer-focused role, along with excellent communication, negotiation and case management skills. A good understanding of housing legislation and welfare benefits would be advantageous.
