Regulatory Counsel
to come and join our Global Regulatory Team, based in London as we continue with exciting projects, facilitating communications worldwide.As a Regulatory Counsel, you are responsible for ensuring legal and regulatory compliance in the countries of the coverage under your responsibility and the topics assigned to you. You will provide daily legal and regulatory advice with regards to Bandwidth products and operational processes, advising different business units and actively following up on any legal and regulatory changes that may impact the business.You will propose actions to be taken in order to ensure compliance of Bandwidth products with the applicable laws in countries of coverage. You will negotiate different types of service agreements with suppliers and follow up on key regulatory topics globally. You will provide support with regards to any legal or regulatory research, analysis or project to the business units and maintain all processes and regulatory information up to date.You will report to the Director, Global Regulatory.What You''ll Do:Regulatory and Compliance WorkBe responsible and accountable for maintenance of the regulatory conditions of the countries and topics assignedAnalyse regulatory frameworks, monitor and advise on changes in the law that affect Bandwidth’s products and operational processesAdvise on regulatory conditions, compliance strategies and risksResearch and draft regulatory documentation in a clear, comprehensive and accurate mannerCollaborate with internal parties, including Product, Carrier Relations, Engineering, Operations, etc. on cross-coverage and cross-functional regulatory topicsAnswer to internal and external questions related to the countries and topics assignedLiaise with appropriate external parties, including regulatory agencies, industry groups, etc.Review and negotiate supplier agreements supporting services in the countries of assigned coverageReview public consultations relevant to Bandwidth services, draft position papers and liaise with the Global Policy team on strategies, submissions, etc.Source of truth and support to the Regulatory Operations, Compliance Operations and other operational teams within BandwidthProjects and Go To Market WorkProvide timely, comprehensive and adequate support to business units on projects with regulatory impact, and go to market initiatives across the globeDocumentation and Administrative SupportCreate and maintain up-to-date regulatory documentation on a wide-variety of electronic communications topics and ensure up-keep of regulatory archives in the countries of assigned coverageEnsure timely and accurate regulatory filings in the countries of assigned coverageManage external counsel, including ensuring the right level of expertise and support is available when neededOtherTravel Expectation: some travel may be required for this role to collaborate and liaise with internal and external parties in different regionsWhat You Need:Education / Professional Experience:Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in LawMinimum of 3 - 5 years of work experience within the electronic communications market, preferably on regulatory topics in-house or in a law office practiceKnowledge of and experience in voice, messaging, and numbering regulatory frameworks and issues is a strong plusKeen to work in an international tech company with colleagues all around the globeTechnical Knowledge:Working knowledge and understanding of voice over IP technologies and cloud communicationsInterest in and passion for communications and new technologies is a mustOutstanding level of IT literacyNecessary Skills:Fluent in legal and business English, another European language is a strong plusFast learner and able to grasp and explain complex regulatory and technology-related issues rapidly and accuratelyCritically and analytically minded with a strong eye for details, a problem-solver and can-do attitudeSelf-starter with self-driven initiative to continue learningStrong communication and interpersonal skills: writes and communicates clearly, accurately and succinctly with different stakeholders in a variety of communication settings and stylesExcellent contract drafting and negotiation skillsAble to work in an organised, timely and structured manner on a variety of topics simultaneouslyAble to thrive in a multi-disciplinary role, and adapt to changing prioritiesProactive, open-minded, dynamic and hands-on approachStrong work ethic: committed, collaborative, dependable and reliableThe Whole Person Promise:
