Registered Manager -Ofsted

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and committed Registered Manager to lead a-2-bed residential children''s home in Coventry, supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader who is passionate about providing high-quality care and creating a safe, stable and nurturing home where young people can thrive.

As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, the development of the staff team and, most importantly, ensuring positive outcomes for the young people in our care.

About the Role

You will be responsible for ensuring that the home operates to a consistently high standard and complies with all relevant legislation, regulations and Ofsted requirements.

You will lead by example, creating a positive culture within the home and ensuring that every young person receives individualised support based on their needs, experiences and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the management and operation of the 2-bed children''s home.
• Ensure the home provides a safe, welcoming, nurturing and structured environment.
• Lead, motivate and develop a dedicated residential childcare team.
• Ensure staff understand and consistently follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
• Promote positive relationships between staff and young people.
• Support young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties to develop independence, confidence and life skills.
• Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, managed and reported appropriately.
• Maintain high standards of care planning, record keeping and documentation.
• Monitor and review incidents, complaints, missing-from-care episodes and safeguarding concerns.
• Work collaboratively with social workers, placing authorities, schools, health professionals and other agencies.
• Ensure the home is fully prepared for Ofsted inspections and regulatory monitoring.
• Manage staff rotas, supervision, performance and training requirements.
• Conduct regular staff supervision and contribute to team development.
• Ensure staff receive appropriate mandatory and specialist training.
• Maintain the home''s Statement of Purpose and associated policies and procedures.
• Monitor the quality of care being delivered and identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Participate in an on-call management rota where required.

About You

We are looking for a confident and compassionate leader who can balance strong management with a genuine commitment to children''s welfare.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working in a residential children''s home.
• Experience in a senior or management position within children''s social care.
• Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, trauma, challenging behaviour or complex needs.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
• A good understanding of Ofsted''s expectations and children''s residential care regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
• A positive, solution-focused approach.
• A commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for children and young people.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Relevant Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Willingness to achieve or hold the relevant management qualification in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Previous experience in residential childcare.
• Management or senior-level experience.

The home is based in Coventry, West Midlands, with good transport links across the surrounding area.
