Location & Context:
3-bed children’s home in Moseley, Birmingham – currently supporting one young person, allowing for a calm, stable environment and a measured approach to leadership.
This is an existing home rated GOOD, with the second service in development across a small, growing group.
Introduction:
This is a Registered Manager opportunity within a provider that places genuine emphasis on ethos, culture and doing things properly. The home is already established, giving you the stability of an existing service, while still offering the opportunity to shape and influence its next phase.
You’ll be supported by Directors who are experienced in residential childcare and can evidence strong outcomes for young people. This is not a standalone role – it sits within a structure designed to support, guide and retain its leaders.
About the Role:
• Lead the day-to-day running of a 3-bed home, currently operating as a solo placement
• Provide consistent, values-led leadership to a stable staff team
• Oversee care planning, safeguarding and quality of care
• Support and develop staff through supervision and reflective practice
• Work alongside senior leadership to maintain and build on GOOD standards
• Contribute to the development of the wider group as additional homes are established
What Makes This Opportunity Different:
• A provider that is genuinely ethos and culture driven, not process-led
• Directors with a proven track record in delivering positive outcomes for children
• A realistic approach to placements, currently supporting one young person for stability
• Group structure allows for a 1 week on, 5 week off on-call rota
• Focus on creating meaningful experiences for young people, including holidays and activities
• Early-stage growth, offering influence without the pressure of starting from scratch
About You:
Experience & Qualifications:
• Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) with Level 5 completed or in progress
• Experience working within children’s residential settings
• Confident leading or supervising staff within a care environment
• Sound understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
Personal Qualities:
• Calm, consistent and reflective in your leadership
• Values-led with a clear focus on children’s outcomes
• Able to build trust with both young people and staff
• Resilient, with a balanced and sustainable approach to the role
Why Join:
• Be part of a provider that prioritises culture, stability and long-term outcomes
• Work within a structure that supports shared responsibility and leadership
• Benefit from a manageable on-call rota across the group
• Opportunity to influence future homes within a growing organisation
• A role designed to be sustainable, not overwhelming
