Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a EBD 4 bed children''s residential home for children & young people who have experienced trauma and present with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about therapeutic care and committed to helping young people reach their full potential. The role could also suit a Deputy Manager looking for the next step into a Registered Manager position. The Role
As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the home - ensuring it meets Ofsted standards, provides outstanding levels of care, and creates a safe, nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive. You''ll lead and inspire your team, embedding therapeutic parenting approaches such as PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) to provide consistent, relationship-based care.
Key Responsibilities
- Register with Ofsted as the Manager of the home.
- Lead the team in delivering trauma-informed and therapeutic care.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in line with statutory requirements.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring robust safeguarding practices at all times.
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and external professionals.
- Support children and young people to engage in education, hobbies, and community life.
- Promote independence, resilience, and preparation for adulthood.
- Ensure the home is safe, welcoming, and compliant with health & safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Recruit, supervise, train, and develop the staff team.
- Lead meetings, record-keeping, incident reporting, and quality assurance in line with regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Children''s Homes Regulations 2015 and associated guidance.
- Deliver high standards of leadership, motivation, and professional practice across the team.
About You
- At least 2 years'' experience in a supervisory or management role within a children''s residential setting.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working with young people affected by trauma, exploitation, and challenging behaviours.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- A resilient, compassionate, and child-centred approach.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including on-call responsibilities.
