A growing children''s residential care provider is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead the opening of a brand-new children''s home in Greater Manchester.
Supporting children and young people aged 8-17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD), this is a unique opportunity to join during the pre-registration phase and play a key role in creating an exceptional home from the very beginning.
Working within a trauma-informed and therapeutic model of care, you''ll have the opportunity to shape the culture, recruit your team and establish a service with the ambition of achieving an Outstanding Ofsted rating.
The Role
As the Registered Manager, you''ll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and full compliance with Children''s Homes Regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Registering with Ofsted as the Registered Manager.
- Leading, developing and inspiring a residential care team.
- Creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive.
- Overseeing care planning, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
- Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
- Ensuring compliance with the Children''s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Managing Regulation 40 notifications, Regulation 44 visits and Regulation 45 quality assurance processes.
- Building excellent relationships with local authorities, social workers, families and external professionals.
- Managing staffing, budgets and overall operational performance.
- Driving continuous improvement with the aim of achieving an Outstanding Ofsted rating.
About You
To be successful, you''ll need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or be working towards it.
- A minimum of two years'' experience in a senior or management position within a children''s residential home.
- Excellent knowledge of the Children''s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Experience of Ofsted inspections, ideally achieving Good or Outstanding outcomes.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge with experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
