Brook Street Social Care are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a 4-bed children''s home in South Wales. This is a pivotal leadership role for someone passionate about delivering high-quality, child-centred care and committed to continuous improvement.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you''ll be responsible for the overall management of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and the delivery of safe, effective services to young people. You''ll lead a dedicated team, promote best practice, and foster a culture of accountability, development, and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain registration with Care Inspectorate Wales and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation
- Promote a culture of performance management and continuous improvement
- Lead staff supervision, induction, and appraisal processes
- Ensure staffing levels meet the needs of young people and regulatory standards
- Oversee financial operations and maintain robust systems
- Monitor health and safety compliance and risk management
- Facilitate access to activities that promote independence and personal development
- Evaluate care quality against placement plans and service objectives
- Promote consultation with young people and their families
- Contribute to policy development and strategic initiatives
- Participate in the emergency on-call rota
About You
You''ll be a confident and compassionate leader with a strong background in residential childcare and a commitment to safeguarding and service excellence.
Essential Criteria
- QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People''s Residential Management) Wales
or NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care - Children and Young People and NVQ Level 4 in Management - Registered with Social Care Wales and Care Inspectorate Wales
- Minimum 5 years'' experience working with children and young people in residential care (including 2 years at supervisory level within the last 10 years)
