Regional Rearing Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a practical and well-organised individual to take a key role in establishing and supporting a growing network of calf rearing units in Scotland. You''ll be responsible for working closely with existing Rearers while also identifying and onboarding new units - helping to shape a robust, high-welfare supply chain from the ground up. The role blends stockmanship, communication, and coordination. You''ll be out on-farm regularly - assessing calves on arrival, ensuring welfare and protocol compliance, supporting rearers, and liaising with vets to ensure best practice is upheld across every unit. Alongside this, you''ll play a vital part in the planning and rollout of new sites, helping potential rearers navigate the process and get off to a strong start. You''ll begin with an intensive two-week induction alongside experienced colleagues in England, followed by structured ongoing support. Though Scotland is slightly further from the day-to-day hub, you''ll never be working in isolation - you''ll be in frequent contact with the wider team and supported throughout. Main Responsibilities: • Assess calves on arrival to ensure they meet procurement specs and flag issues where needed. • Support tagging, vaccinating, and weighing processes on-farm where appropriate. • Carry out regular unit visits to monitor compliance and offer hands-on guidance. • Work closely with the veterinary team to maintain high health and welfare standards and minimise losses. ..... full job details .....
