We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established logistics and distribution business with three strategically located warehouses totalling over

30,000 sq ft

in Reading. With a workforce that flexes between

50 and 100 staff , including warehouse operatives, in-house drivers, and subcontracted logistics providers, this is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned operator ready to step into a pivotal leadership role.

Our client is entering a period of exciting transformation, with plans to

implement a new Warehouse Management System (WMS)

in the next 12 months. Experience in WMS deployment or optimisation will be highly advantageous.

The Opportunity

As

Regional Manager , youll take ownership of warehouse and transport operations across all three sites. Reporting directly to the

Managing Director and/or Commercial Director , this is a hands-on, commercially focused role with

full PandL responsibility . Your leadership will directly impact efficiency, service delivery, and ongoing growth across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all daily logistics and warehousing operations across three Reading-based sitesLead planning and execution of transport and warehouse strategiesManage the full regional PandL, ensuring operational efficiency and financial performanceDrive continuous improvement across service, systems, and layout optimisationSupport the roll-out and integration of the new WMS platformBuild and develop strong teams and effective cross-departmental collaboration (Sales, Procurement, Finance)Ensure full compliance with UK transport legislation, health and safety, and internal standards

What Were Looking For:

Significant leadership experience in warehouse, transport, or logistics operationsProven success managing budgets and driving commercial outcomesKnowledge of WMS, inventory systems, and logistics planningConfident team leader with strong communication and people management skillsOrganised, strategic thinker with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

Desirable Qualifications:

Transport CPC, IOSH, or NEBOSH certificationsDegree or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain, or operational management
