Reporting directly to the SHEQ Director, you will oversee all health, safety, quality and environmental matters within the South Region. You will provide expert guidance, support operational teams, and represent the business at senior client and stakeholder meetings. You will contribute to bid responses and project planning, ensuring safety excellence is embedded at every stage.Your Key Responsibilities

Provide expert advice and support on health, safety, and welfare issues to all project stakeholders.Foster a positive SHEQ culture through coaching, behavioural interventions, and leadership.Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and client requirements.Contribute to the development and implementation of project Health and Safety Plans.Conduct site safety inspections, including occasional weekend and night visits, to verify adherence to safety standards.Address and close out corrective actions from inspections, promoting continuous improvement.Liaise with client safety representatives and regulatory authorities on all health and safety matters.Investigate accidents and incidents thoroughly, ensuring lessons learned are shared and implemented.Support open communication on health and safety across project teams.Monitor and report on health and safety performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.Manage and support the development of HandS Advisors and Managers within the region.Deliver in-house training on relevant health and safety topics.Proactively contribute to the development of “Best Practice” safety standards across the organisation.Oversee the management of the Company’s Principal Contractors Licence (Rail projects).What We’re Looking For

Proven experience as a Senior or Regional Head of Health and Safety in rail or civil engineering environments.Relevant health and safety qualifications (Degree, Diploma, HNC/HND).Strong experience working within relevant construction and engineering project environments.Chartered status or working towards IOSH Chartership.What We Offer
