TarmacWe are seeking a

Regional Contracting Director

to join our Southwest and Wales Leadership team to build and execute the regional growth strategy and shape the future of Tarmac. This pivotal role will have full leadership and accountability for the regional asphalt surfacing business, delivering budgeted performance and achieving stretch targets. As a key decision maker, you will work in partnership with the Contracting Performance Director to lead and deliver regional contracting performance, contributing to EBITDA margin growth. You will also deliver key business initiatives and all contracting optimisation projects across the region.

ResponsibilitiesFull Profit and Loss accountability for the regional Pave business, delivering results and achieving stretch targets

Build strong customer relationships with local authorities, major contractors and National Highways

Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance via sponsorship and leadership, aligning with the national HSEQ strategy aiming for zero harm

Deliver optimisation commitments

Work winning to achieve budgeted and stretch targets in identified markets

Maximise contract value, create opportunities for further value and resolve disputes effectively

Maintain an optimum cost base by reviewing resources and deployment aligned to customer portfolio, volumes, spend and contract pipeline

Achieve internal cash collection targets, minimise aged debt and manage risk

Collaborate with the Regional Leadership team to deliver performance across the full value chain (asphalt, aggregates and recycled materials)

StrategyBuild performance plans aligned to Tarmac’s growth ambition

Develop and execute the region''s short and long-term contracting plan

Collaborate with Contracting Directors, Contracting Performance Director, MD Building Products, and National Businesses and Director of Circularity to win work

Work with teams across the business to maximise opportunities across the value chain and drive growth beyond the regional remit

Partner with Sustainability, Technical and Circularity teams to develop innovative and sustainable products and solutions to deliver carbon reduction roadmaps and growth

LeadershipDevelop an effective regional contracting team that collaborates across regions, national businesses and functions

Build a diverse and inclusive talent pool, with resilient succession plans and capability to future-proof the business

Support the Managing Director to develop the regional talent plan and promote growth mindset

The Ideal CandidateDemonstrable visionary leadership with a track record of delivering budgeted performance and stretch targets

Ability to influence and develop relationships

Experience in driving strategic change and business growth

Integrity, trust, and a passion for mentoring and inclusive, future-ready teams

Change management capabilities

Proven results in driving value and a strong track record in contracting markets
