Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer to join their field-based team, covering customer sites predominantly across the North East.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong refrigeration bias who is looking for a varied field-based role working across a customer-focused environment.
You will be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning systems, ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable and operational to the highest possible standard.
Working as part of an established field team, you will play an important role in helping customers maintain asset uptime and ensure their stores can continue trading effectively.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules within agreed timescales and budgets.

Carry out planned and reactive refrigeration and air conditioning maintenance safely and to a high standard.

Proactively diagnose faults, failures and issues with equipment and systems.

Identify effective solutions to technical problems and escalate issues where appropriate.

Support improvements in customer service, operational performance and productivity.

Help maximise asset uptime and first-time fix rates.

Maintain strong working relationships with customers, clients and colleagues.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant health, safety and technical standards.

Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota covering evenings and weekends.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

C&G 2079 F-Gas qualification, including Hydrocarbons.

A full UK driving licence.

Significant experience working as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer.

Ideally, experience working within a retail environment.

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

The ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently with clients and colleagues.

A professional and solutions-focused approach to your work.

The flexibility to work 40+ hours per week and participate in the evening and weekend call-out rota.
