Recycling Operatives (x2) - Temporary Belfast City CouncilOrmeau Road, Belfast BT7 3GG 14.35 per hour (PAYE)37 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern, including weekendsStarting Monday 19 October 2026 Hatched Recruitment Group is recruiting two Recycling Operatives to join Belfast City Council''s Waste Management team at a busy recycling centre in south Belfast. You''ll help members of the public dispose of their waste safely and correctly, while keeping the site clean, safe and running smoothly. What you''ll be doing:Advising and helping members of the public to separate and dispose of recyclable and hazardous materialsMaking sure only permitted waste is accepted and stored correctlyControlling access and keeping visitors safe on siteKeeping the site clean, including dealing with spills and leaksRecording waste removed from site and entering data on council systemsOperating compaction and skip-moving equipmentCarrying out daily health and safety and fire safety checksOpening and closing the site, and gritting in icy weather What you''ll need:Either two GCSEs (A-C) including English or equivalent with at least 1 year''s experience in each of the areas below, or at least 2 years'' experience in each of these areas:working in a similar role in a waste management environmentgiving advice and guidance to customers face-to-face every dayGood communication skills, including handling difficult situations calmlyGood health and safety awarenessBasic record-keeping ..... full job details .....
