Job Title: Recycling Operative – Scrap Metal
Location: Shepshed, LE12
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: Immediate Start Available

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour unpaid break)
Full-time, 5 days per week – consistent, ongoing work.

About the Role:

We’re currently recruiting an experienced Recycling Operative to join a well-established scrap metal merchant in Shepshed. This is a hands-on role involving the sorting and processing of scrap metal, plastics, and other recyclable materials.

You will be working in a busy, dusty, and noisy environment, so previous experience in a similar setting — especially in a metal recycling facility — is highly preferred. The role does not involve heavy lifting, but it does require attention to detail, focus, and the ability to work independently.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working in metal recycling or a similar recycling environment

• Strong reliability – someone who can commit to working Monday to Friday every week

• A good level of spoken and understood English

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

• Someone looking for a long-term, stable opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

• Sorting various scrap materials (mainly metals and plastics)

• Following strict health and safety procedures

• Keeping the work area clean and organised

• Supporting the team as required
