Receptionist / Care Navigator

Overview
We are looking to expand our reception team at Potterells Medical Centre. We are a large friendly team working in the NHS.Hours and shifts
The hours are between 8am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday. There is also a rotation of a Tuesday late evening until 8.30pm and a Saturday morning 8.30am-12.30pm. These are on a rota basis and would be approximately once every 6-8 weeks.Shifts: Monday 1pm-5pmTuesday 1pm-6pmFriday 8am-5pmNote: We may however ask you to change as the business needs where necessary.Primary responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:Maintain and monitor the practice appointment systemFilling the role of admin buddy on our triage team on a rotating basisAnswer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers’ request appropriatelySignpost patients to the correct serviceInitiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agenciesClinically code data on SystmOneData entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as requiredProcessing repeat prescription requests according to practice policyInput data into patients’ healthcare records as necessaryDirect requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors’ letters and DVLA forms to the administrative teamManage all queries as necessary in an efficient mannerMaintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all timesMonitor and maintain the reception area and notice boardsSupport all clinical staff with general tasks as requestedTo maintain a good rapport/relationship between internal and external customers of the Practice at all timesSecondary responsibilities
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Receptionist may be requested to:Partake in audit as directed by the audit leadSupport administrative staff, providing cover during staff absencesAction incoming emails and correspondence as necessaryScan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients’ healthcare recordsComplete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rotaOrder and monitor stationery suppliesIdentify and provide team training where requiredSupport the practice manager with all Patient Participation Group related mattersSupport the health promotion lead and display promotional material on the allocated noticed boards and in the waiting roomPay
£12.21 per hourAbout the practice
We are a forward-thinking GMS practice with a list size of 17,000 patients, situated in Welham Green. We have a secondary site on campus of Hertfordshire university. We are CQC registered as good. The practice teams consist of GP partners, salaried GPs, registrars, nurses, reception, admin and PCN staff (physiotherapists, pharmacists, care coordinators and social prescribers) who all have positive working relationships with one another.We use TPP system one for our clinical system, however knowledge of this is desirable not essential.You will be joining our diverse reception team, who are critical to the running of the practice. The reception team is a highly valued part of our work force whose work and input help create positive outcomes for our patients.We became a training practice in 2005 and actively encourage the learning and development of our team.We are a close-knit team between both admin and clinical teams.Job Type and Benefits
