1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant - ASD Location: Birmingham Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant - ReceptionAspire People are currently recruiting for a strong and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Reception pupil with ASD in a primary school.The pupil is boisterous and energetic , with behaviours including climbing on furniture, and requires a confident adult who can provide clear boundaries, manage behaviour positively and keep him safe throughout the school day. The role also involves support with toileting .The successful candidate will be a strong role model who can build a trusting, positive relationship with the pupil while encouraging engagement, independence and positive behaviour. The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience working in Early Years/Reception Experience supporting children with ASD/additional needs Strong behaviour management skills A calm, confident and consistent approach The ability to set clear boundaries and provide positive reinforcement Experience supporting children with personal care/toileting The confidence to work 1:1 with an energetic and active pupil A nurturing approach with the ability to build strong relationshipsThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and can provide the consistency, structure and positive role modelling this pupil needs.
