Amazon Robotics empowers a smarter, faster, more consistent customer experience through automation. Amazon Robotics automates fulfillment center operations using various methods of robotic technology including autonomous mobile robots, sophisticated control software, language perception, power management, computer vision, depth sensing, machine learning, object recognition, and semantic understanding of commands.

We are constantly innovating in the ways we are automating and accelerating the delivery of products and packages which includes building custom hardware and applying robotics, autonomy, supply chain optimization, machine learning, manipulation, image processing, and real-time data processing using distributed systems.

We are seeking a talented and solutions-oriented Reality Capture BIM Engineer to contribute to delivering transformational innovation to the business. As a Reality Capture BIM Engineer, you will work closely with field engineers and cross-functional teams to improve the quality and productivity of automation deployment for Amazon’s fulfillment network.

Key job responsibilities

Perform 3D modeling, meshing, and feature extractions of physical facilities and equipmentParticipate in and execute on 3D and BIM modeling initiativesAnalyze multi-layer engineering models for clash detection and produce detailed clash reportsMaintain organization and management of 2D and 3D information as it pertains to coordination and design projects including project notes and documentationMaintain and follow QA/QC procedures to ensure consistency and quality of workSupport field on-site scanning and process/register 3D LiDAR dataWork with field engineers to develop and streamline standard operating procedures for use cases of reality capture for automation deploymentWork with and lead coordination meetings with cross-functional deployment teams to deliver timely feedback on installation errors and clashesTravel internationally up to 50%

Basic Qualifications

BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Architecture, Civil, or equivalentExperience in Autodesk (Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, ReCap, and BIM360)Experience in Point cloud processing and modelingIndustrial experience working with cross functional teams and field operations

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a solutions specialist in construction BIM/AECField experience, pre-construction BIM or VDC related experienceSolid comprehension of construction industry and processesExperience programming in common computer languages including data processing, user interfaces, and statistical data analysis
