Job Description:


  • Deliver targetedandnbsp;reading interventionsandnbsp;and support acrossandnbsp;KS1 and KS2, with a focus onandnbsp;phonics,andnbsp;fluency,andnbsp;comprehension, andandnbsp;reading for pleasure
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to identify pupils in need of additional support and tailorandnbsp;individualised learning plans
  • Use a range ofandnbsp;diagnostic assessmentsandnbsp;to monitor progress and inform planning
  • Foster aandnbsp;language-rich environmentandnbsp;that promotesandnbsp;confidence,andnbsp;curiosity, and aandnbsp;lifelong love of reading
  • Contribute to the wider school community throughandnbsp;literacy events,andnbsp;parent workshops, andandnbsp;reading initiatives

The Ideal Candidate Will:


  • Have experience deliveringandnbsp;reading interventionsandnbsp;or working as aandnbsp;Literacy/Reading Specialist (desirable but not essential)
  • Be knowledgeable inandnbsp;systematic synthetic phonicsandnbsp;(e.g. Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds, or similar programmes)
  • Be aandnbsp;reflective,andnbsp;adaptable, andandnbsp;child-centred practitioner
  • Demonstrate a commitment toandnbsp;inclusive education,andnbsp;safeguarding, andandnbsp;pupil wellbeing
  • Possess excellentandnbsp;communication,andnbsp;organisational, andandnbsp;interpersonalandnbsp;skills
  • Be enthusiastic aboutandnbsp;continuous professional developmentandnbsp;andandnbsp;collaborative practice
