Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse operations, including experience with materials handling, shipping and receiving, and stock management. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate various warehouse equipment, including forklifts. A commitment to maintaining a safe and organised work environment is essential.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods from lorries and containers efficiently.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively.
- Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels.
- Perform picking and packing of orders accurately to ensure timely dispatch.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring all documentation is completed correctly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse space.
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist with stocking shelves as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols to minimise risks in the workplace.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in materials handling techniques and practices.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems, preferably AS400.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) regularly throughout the shift.
- Mechanical knowledge is an advantage for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Experience in construction or similar fields is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are essential for accurate order fulfilment.
