Pay: £165 – £250 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm | Full-Time

A secondary school in the Bitterne area of Southampton is seeking a passionate and committed Religious Education Teacher to join their Humanities department after October half term. This long-term role offers the exciting opportunity to become a permanent member of staff for the right candidate.
The successful teacher will deliver inspiring RE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering curiosity, respect, and engagement in students of all abilities. This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators to contribute to a thriving school community.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver engaging, inclusive RE lessons that promote critical thinking and respect for diverse beliefs.
Assess, monitor, and support student progress with regular feedback.
Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department.
Create a positive classroom environment with high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
Support whole-school initiatives and contribute to extracurricular activities.
A mixed 11–16 secondary school with a strong community ethos.
Rated “Good” by Ofsted, with a focus on inclusive values and high standards.
Supportive leadership team committed to staff wellbeing and development.
Well-connected location in Bitterne with good public transport links.
A degree in Religious Studies or a closely related subject (essential).
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred).
Experience teaching RE at KS3 and KS4.
Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
A genuine passion for Religious Education and student success.
