We are looking for a Manager to join our Tax Innovation and Capital Incentives (ICI) team in one of our National offices. The ICI team has a wide range of clients across all industries including engineering, food and drink, manufacturing, financial services and software development. We advise businesses on HMRC incentives including Research and Development reliefs, Patent Box claims and Capital Allowances claims, which are effective tools to reward innovation and technological development. Our aim is to deliver top quality client experience that differentiates us from competitors. Our team includes individuals with general tax, audit and industry backgrounds, all bringing different skills and perspectives to ensure exceptional service to our clients.What Your Days Will Look Like
As a Manager in our team you will be expected to work on a wide variety of projects covering all incentives we advise on. You will be encouraged to take ownership of your own development, actively seeking new projects and staying familiar with the latest HMRC guidance and legislation. The role also emphasizes practical application beyond legislation and guidance to support rapid progression through exposure to real client work.Responsibilities
Taking a lead role in managing the client relationship which can include managing deadlines, running parts of meetings, handling day to day queries and establishing your role as a trusted contact while adding value to clients from within the wider tax team and across the FirmPreparation of formal reports to support the numerical claims for filing with HMRC and project technical summaries to illustrate the innovation undertaken by our clientsAssisting with the review of numerical aspects of claims and application of the rules to claimsGetting involved proactively with business development and looking for opportunities to win work for existing clients and new targetsQualifications / Requirements
A sound understanding of the RandD regimes and experience in the preparation of both SME and RDEC claims (specifically, reviewing claim workings, contributing to client technical calls, and preparing supporting documentation)Passion for client service and stakeholder engagement at all levels of seniorityStrong organisational skills to manage working on a number of clients across our portfolioExcel/analytical skills to enable you to understand the numerical aspects of claims and compile the dataWhat You’ll Receive From Us
