Are you an experienced Rail Engineer with a strong background in Rolling Stock maintenance and repair?

Do you want to move into a rewarding role where you can support and develop the next generation of Rail Engineering professionals while enjoying excellent rates, training, and long-term career progression?

Join a growing apprenticeship provision within a well-established College group that is investing in its Rail Engineering department. This is an exciting opportunity to use your industry expertise to support apprentices, give back to the sector, and develop a long-term career within education and assessment.

As a Rail Engineering Assessor, you''ll work with 19+ apprentices across the West Midlands, supporting them through their apprenticeship journey. You''ll assess learners in the workplace, provide guidance and feedback, monitor progress, and ensure apprentices are developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to succeed within Rolling Stock maintenance and repair.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience maintaining and repairing trains / rolling stock. This is a Rolling Stock-focused role, so experience must be centred around the maintenance and repair of the train itself rather than track, signalling, or permanent way. You must hold a Level 3 qualification in Rail Engineering or a closely related discipline. Previous assessing experience is highly desirable but not essential, as assessor training can be provided.
