The role will involve stripping rafts and building transmissions within the rail industry, working as part of a team to break down and rebuild mechanical systems on locomotive rafts. Duties include: * Engine strip down and rebuild of components * Fitting refurbished engines back onto rafts * Working on radiators, pumps, tanks, pipework, electrical looms and associated components * Repairing and installing hydraulic systems * Overhaul of raft components * Reading and understanding schematic drawings * Supporting trainees and apprentices where required Ideal background: * Strong mechanical fitting experience * Experienced Plant Fitters / Builders preferred * Hydraulic experience would be ...
