JOB- R&D Technician
LOCATION- Reading

TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £28,000 per annum (grad level)

We''re seeking an R&D Technician to join our Research & Development team, focusing on the creation and testing of innovative conformal coatings. You''ll work closely with colleagues in the UK and USA, plus Quality, Production, Technical Support, and Sales teams, to develop new products and improve manufacturing processes.

The R&D Technician will ideally have the following attributes:

• BSc or Msc in Chemistry, Material Science or Polymer
• Experience with coatings, adhesives, paints, or other advanced chemical products (preferred)
• Knowledge of lab test methods/instruments (Viscosity, Rheology, FTIR advantageous)
• Strong attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach
• Ability to work well in a project team environment

The R&D Technician role will involve:

• Develop and test new coating formulations
• Assess new raw materials for suitability
• Operate automated coating equipment for trials and testing
• Support process scale-up and cost-reduction projects
• Assist Technical Support with customer queries
• Contribute to QA processes and prepare technical reports
• Visit customer sites for product trials
