Our client 

Sunny Recruitment is working with an established, family run business within the quarrying and aggregates sector to recruit an experienced Quarry Manager for one of their West Wales operations. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, balancing time out on site with the planning, compliance and paperwork that keep a quarry running safely and well. 

The role 

As Quarry Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day to day running of the quarry, leading and supporting a small operational team. A large part of your role will focus on Health & Safety and compliance, making sure the right systems, risk assessments and safe working practices are in place. 

Key responsibilities 

• Keep day to day quarry production running safely and efficiently
• Lead, support and develop the operational team
• Manage risk assessments and safe systems of work
• Ensure site and environmental compliance
• Oversee plant, equipment and maintenance requirements
• Maintain the required site records and documentation
• Work with suppliers, customers and relevant external bodies
• Be hands on and willing to help operationally when required

What we’re looking for 

• Level 6 Diploma in Safety, Health & Environmental Management in Mineral Products Operations, or an accepted equivalent
• Experience within quarrying, aggregates or mineral products
• Strong practical knowledge of Health & Safety and quarry compliance
• Previous experience leading or supervising people
• A practical, approachable management style
• Confidence supporting and developing less experienced team members
• Full UK driving licence
