Quantity Survyeor

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the project team on a hotel conversion project. You will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring costs are controlled and financial targets are achieved.

Working closely with the Project Manager and wider site team, you will oversee subcontractor procurement, cost reporting, valuations and final accounts to support the successful delivery of the scheme.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts and monthly commercial reports.
• Procure and manage subcontractors, including tendering, negotiations and subcontract agreements.
• Prepare and assess interim valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
• Manage variations, cost changes and commercial risks.
• Monitor project expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Work closely with the project team to ensure commercial and contractual requirements are met.
• Manage costs associated with refurbishment, structural alterations, building services and hotel fit-out works.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment.
• Experience in refurbishment, fit-out, hotel or commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor procurement, cost control and contract administration.
• Good understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
