Quantity Surveyor / Estimator – Commercial Fit-Out

We are representing a well-established, privately owned principal contractor in their search for a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their team.
This is a confidential opportunity with a long-standing, family-run business delivering high-quality fit-out and refurbishment projects across Greater London and the UK. With a turnover of circa £10m, the company specialises in office fit-out, retail/shop fitting, and hospitality projects, and also operates its own in-house bespoke joinery manufacturing facility.
 
The Role This is a hybrid commercial role combining both pre-construction estimating and post-contract quantity surveying responsibilities. You will play a key role across the full project lifecycle, from tender stage through to final account.
Key duties include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, tenders, and bid submissions
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project scopes
• Managing project costs from inception through to completion
• Procurement of subcontractors and supplier packages
• Valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Cost reporting and financial forecasting
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Supporting project delivery to ensure commercial success

 
About You We are seeking a commercially astute professional who is comfortable working across both estimating and surveying functions.
Requirements:

• 4+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator role
• Background in commercial fit-out, refurbishment, or interiors
• Experience across office, retail, or hospitality sectors preferred
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel and relevant commercial/estimating software
